Reality TV this week was split between a genuine scandal and a genuine hit—and both stories landed on Bravo. The network wrapped its investigation into the Summer House reunion audio leak that rocked the fan community last Thursday, while The Real Housewives of Rhode Island delivered the kind of numbers the network hasn’t seen from a series premiere in over two years. One was a PR crisis; the other was a franchise win. Here’s what you need to know.
Bravo Closes the Book on the Summer House Audio Leak
On April 26, Bravo announced that its investigation into the Summer House reunion audio leak had concluded, confirming the audio was “an unauthorized recording and distributed by an individual involved in the production of the reunion,” with “appropriate action” taken against the responsible party. The network clarified that “there is no evidence that any member of the cast was involved in the recording of the audio”.
The Season 10 reunion of the Bravo hit was recorded in New York City on Thursday, April 23, and was expected to deal with the “Scamanda” scandal that roiled the Bravoverse last month. Shortly after production wrapped, however, a portion of the audio was leaked online, featuring an exchange between Ciara Miller, West Wilson, and Amanda Batula. Andy Cohen responded to the incident on Threads, calling the leak “disrespectful”, and Bravo announced it was launching an investigation, calling it “a serious breach of trust and a clear lack of respect for the cast, crew, and the integrity of the production process”.
Bravo also confirmed it is aware of additional improperly obtained audio circulating, cautioning “all parties and platforms to refrain from posting, sharing, or amplifying any unauthorized audio”. The finished reunion episodes are still set to air in May.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island Delivers Bravo’s Biggest Premiere in Over Two Years
While Bravo dealt with damage control, the network also had reason to celebrate. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island premiere episode earned 2.7 million viewers across platforms in seven days after its April 2 premiere, making it Bravo’s biggest multi-platform series premiere since 2024. RHORI now also holds the title for the most-watched series or season premiere of all time for a Bravo original on Peacock in its first seven days.
NBCU reported that RHORI’s episode 4 saw an 11% increase in viewership on Peacock compared to the first three episodes, meaning the show is building momentum rather than losing it. RHORI has generated 60 million impressions and 33.5 million video views across social media platforms since its first announcement at BravoCon 2025.
The cast includes Ashley Iaconetti from Bachelor Nation, former TV news anchor Rosie DiMare, entrepreneur Alicia Carmody, and cannabis queen Liz McGraw, with Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Dolores Catania appearing as a “friend of” the group. The 11th franchise in the Real Housewives universe airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams next day on Peacock.
Netflix Announces Cast for Calabasas Confidential
In new series news, Netflix revealed the cast for Calabasas Confidential, following a group of lifelong friends, foes, and exes in the Los Angeles County city made famous by the Kardashians. The series, which comes from Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios, will premiere on May 29.
The cast includes Alexie Olivo, Ben Favaedi, Dylan Wolf, Emilie Nelson, Emma Medrano, Hercy Miller, Jemma Durrant, Jodie Woods, Kimora Lewis, Nicole Sahebi, Preston Pippen, Raine Michaels, Sterling Retzlaff, and Suede Brooks. After graduating college, the group returns to Calabasas for “a summer they’ll never forget,” facing unresolved drama while trying to define what’s next for their lives and relationships.
The move is part of Netflix’s strategy to bring more classic reality series in the vein of Laguna Beach and The Hills to the platform. Jeff Gaspin, who heads unscripted at Netflix, said he wanted to bring “some of that magic back,” noting that “when someone in their 20s comes to visit Los Angeles, there’s two places they want to go, and it’s not Disneyland or Universal: It’s Calabasas and Erewhon”.
Netflix Producers Eye Real Housewives for Next Documentary Series
The production company behind Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model is eyeing the 20-year-old Bravo franchise as their next subject, potentially giving Andy Cohen “the Tyra Banks treatment”. Producers are still in very early talks, according to Radar Online, so the project isn’t expected to hit Netflix anytime soon.
An insider explained that producers see this as “about pulling back the curtain,” with the Real Housewives having “the most to reveal.” Another source called Housewives the “next logical step” in their effort to expose the truth behind reality TV. The rumblings arrive right as the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary.
CBS Confirms Survivor and The Amazing Race Return to Fall Schedule
CBS confirmed that Survivor and The Amazing Race will both return with 90-minute episodes this fall. The news comes as the network revealed its full Fall 2026 schedule, including the return of hit scripted series alongside new seasons of both reality staples on Wednesday nights.
While the currently-airing 50th season of Survivor has featured varied episode lengths, the Emmy-winning reality competition series will return to its 90-minute format this fall. New episodes of the show’s 51st season will air on Wednesday nights starting at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by new episodes of The Amazing Race Season 39 starting at 9:30 p.m. ET. Both series were renewed back in January.
Food Network News: Tournament of Champions Winner, Top Chef Mystery
Bryan Voltaggio celebrated his Tournament of Champions Season 7 win on April 26, telling reality blurred that he “really just had fun with it”. Meanwhile, Top Chef spoiled or solved the Restaurant Wars/Last Chance Kitchen mystery on April 24, generating conversation among fans trying to piece together the season’s most competitive episodes.
Top Chef Season 23 is deep into its Carolinas competition arc, with the field thinning considerably as the pressure cook-offs intensify. The show airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
What to Watch This Week
New episodes continue across the Bravo lineup, with Summer House, Southern Hospitality, The Valley, and all three Real Housewives franchises (Atlanta, Beverly Hills, and Rhode Island) delivering fresh drama. On Food Network, the third season of 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing premiered April 26, while Survivor 50 pushes closer to its live finale on CBS Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET.
