About the Show:
Dominating the television landscape, America’s Got Talent has remained the No. 1 show of the summer for 14 straight seasons. This past season concluded in September and averaged 12 million viewers each and every week. In addition to being a broadcast hit, AGT was a digital/social hit, garnering more than 2.6 billion views across all digital video platforms for the season, and currently is the #1 most-social broadcast series of the year.
Season 14 welcomed a new host, Terry Crews. A true renaissance man, Terry has the most diverse set of talents of anyone on television: action-movie hero, sitcom star, children’s book illustrator, flautist, furniture designer, human rights activist and of course television host. Terry brought with him to AGT an undeniable energy and infectious persona that viewers instantly became enamored with.
There was no shortage of phenomenal contestants on AGT this season. America fell in love with acts such as comedian Ryan Niemiller, dance group V. Unbeatable, Detroit Youth Choir, etc. But the undeniable stand-out from the season was singer Kodi Lee who was crowned the Season 14 champion. Lee was born with optic nerve hypoplasia that rendered him legally blind at an early age. He is also autistic and suffers from Addison's Disease. From the first moment he graced the AGT stage, it was apparent that he had captured the attention of viewers with his poise, skill and enormous talent.
Lee’s initial performance which earned him the coveted Golden Buzzer from judge Gabrielle Union has broken records, making it the most watched in the show’s history, having been viewed more than 450 million times across Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
AGT truly is the nation’s preeminent vehicle for discovering talent. Having created countless stars, the show continues to welcome acts of any age and any talent in a phenomenal celebration of the American spirit.
